The Duval

This 4-storey, wood-frame residential complex with a full level of underground parking was sited and designed to respond to a mature stand of Garry Oaks and a heritage schoolhouse. Centrally located in Saanich's Royal Oak neighbourhood, the building is within walking distance of shopping, amenities, services and transportation options.

The building provides a mix of 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 2 bedroom plus den units. The schoolhouse became a neighbourhood focal point, refinished and repurposed into a popular bakery cafe. The oaks became an internal natural amenity for the residents, complete with planters, feature paving and gazebo.
